Dakota, Nakoda Language Courses Set

The Fort Peck Tribes Language and Culture Department is hosting a summer Dakota/Nakoda language program for youth ages 10-17.

The enrollment period is officially open for classes running June 4 to July 25.

Classes will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Language and Culture building in Poplar and the Wolf Point Community Center. Language lessons be offered, as well as cultural teachings and field trips to learn about medicinal plants, sacred sites, digging turnips, picking berries and other activities and practices.

Pick up an application in Poplar at 603 Court Ave., Monday-Friday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
