Writing Contest For Young Writers Underway
Scott McMillion, editor/ publisher of The Montana Quarterly, is sponsoring a contest for young writers called the Big Snowy Prize.
McMillion is looking for writers under 30 by April 15 who are current or former Montana residents. There is no entry fee for this contest, but the rewards for winning are substantial: $500 to the winner in each category and publication in The Montana Quarterly.
The seventh annual Big Snowy Prize will award two prizes, one for short fiction and one for essay/nonfiction. Writers should send entries up to 3,500 unpublished words in a Word document to editor@themontanaquarterly. com no later than April 15. They should show that they live or have lived in Montana. Only one entry per person is allowed. Previous winners are ineligible.
Winning entries will be announced and published in the Summer 2020 issue.
