Eastern C Divisional Track Meet Held May 16

Roosevelt County athletes enjoyed a good measure of success during the Eastern C divisional track meet held in Wolf Point on Thursday, May 16.

The top six placers in each event qualified for the Class C state meet.

Froid/Lake

The Froid/Lake Red Hawks took fourth place with 42 points at the meet.

The top three boys’ teams were Lustre Christian with 97, Plentywood with 81 and Scobey with 80 points.

Mason Dethman placed in four individual events for the Red Hawks. The senior won the divisional championship in the shot put with a best of 47-9.

Dethman took second in the 200 at 23.3, third in the 400 at 52.42 and fourth in the 100 at 11.71.

Cian Logan, a senior, placed fourth in the shot put with a best of 40-0.

Daniel Forizs finished fifth in the 400 at 54.0 seconds.

The 1600-meter relay team featuring Joseph Robertson, Nate Stentoft, Cody Olson and Forizs placed third at 3:51.27.

The 400-meter relay team of Forizs, Eduardo Orozco, Olson and Dethman finished fifth at 46.82.

In the girls’ division, Isabelle Nordwick ran the 400 in 1:04.87 for sixth place. The 1600-meter relay team of Mara Salvevold, Leah Murray, Jordyn Breuer and Nordwick placed fourth at 4:36.02.

The 400-meter relay team featuring Breuer, Nordwick, Murray and Salvevold took fifth at 56.49.

Froid/Lake’s girls scored seven points at the meet.

The top three girls’ teams were Scobey with 118, Savage with 84.5 and Saco with 83.

Bainville

Bainville’s boys scored 31 points for eighth place and Bainville’s girls finished with 27 points for eighth place at the meet.

Samuel Butikofer cleared 6-0 for second place in the high jump. Charles Butikofer cleared 5-10 for fifth place.

The 800 was a strong event for Bainville’s boys as Kaiden Holmes placed second at 2:08.39 and Reese Harmon was third at 2:10.03.

Rowan Wilson placed fourth in the 1600 with a time of 5:05.21.

The 1600-meter relay team of Harmon, Keegan Vaira, Holmes and S. Butikofer placed fourth at 3:52.56.

In the girls’ division, Elsie Wilson qualified for state in five events for the Bulldogs. The junior took fourth in the 300-meter hurdles at 48.7 seconds, fourth in the 100 at 13.9, fourth in the long jump at 16-6, fifth in the triple jump at 33-4 and fifth in the 200 at 27.47.

Lila Butikofer earned third in the discus at 92-11.

Addison Hansen was fourth in the discus at 91-11 and sixth in the shot put at 30-4.

Culbertson Culbertson scored 16 points in the boys’ division and seven points in the girls’ division at the division meet.

Highlighting action was freshman Plenny Williams with a first-place performance in the discus at 131-0.

Reese Moon earned fifth place in the 200 at 24.07 and sixth place in the 100 at 11.85 seconds.

Aden Drake ran a time of 19.38 seconds in the 110-meter hurdles for fifth place.

The 400-meter relay team of Drake, Ian Snyder, Williams and Moon placed sixth with a time of 46.87 seconds.

Destiny Thompson had a best of 116-10 to earn fourth place in the girls’ javelin.

Emma Berwick placed fifth in the discus with a best of 87-8.

The 400-meter relay team featuring Ivy Colvin, Thompson, Bella Peterson and Berwick placed sixth with a time of 56.97 seconds.
