Fire Threatens Bainville Facility Fire Threatens Bainville Facility

A salt water tank exploded at a containment facility site operated by Clean Solutions LLC near Bainville, leading to a sizable fire Monday morning, June 10.

According to Roosevelt County Disaster and Emergency Services coordinator Lindsey McNabb, one worker was injured and taken to CHI St. Alexius Health Williston Medical Center. The worker’s name was not available at press time.

The area of the explosion was approximately 100 feet.

Multiple agencies responded, including Bainville, Culbertson and Froid volunteer fire departments. Sidney Volunteer Fire Department was called for mutual aid, but was turned around en route. EMS and the members of the Roosevelt County Sheriff’s Office were on the scene. Montana Highway Patrol kept the area around the western perimeter of the fire clear in case of additional explosions.

The cause of the blaze, which started around 10:30 a.m., was not known. As of 5:30 p.m. on Monday, McNabb told the Community News that the fire was smoldering and otherwise contained.
