Bulls Compete At Tournament

The Post #49 Bulls’ baseball team gained experience but faced tough competition during the tournament in Watford City, N.D., last week.

The Bulls lost their game against Watford City by an 11-2 final on Saturday, June 8.

Watford City scored two runs in the first inning, eight in the third and another in the fourth for an 11-0 advantage.

The Bulls got on the scoreboard in the top of the fifth when Mitch Brown and Rylan Young crossed the plate. Having RBIs were Ty Leischner and Henry Kukowski.

Pitching for the Bulls were Leischner and Kukowski.

The Bulls are scheduled to lay in Crosby, N.D., on Saturday, June 15, and Glendive on Sunday, June 16.

Sidney

After a good start, the Post 49 Bulls lost to Richland County, 17-8, during the American Legion baseball tournament in Watford City, N.D., on Thursday, June 6.

The Bulls jumped out to a 4-0 lead in the top of the first inning and held a 5-1 advantage after the top of the second.

Richland County, however, tallied six runs in the bottom of the second for a 7-5 advantage.

After the Bulls struck for a pair of runs in the top of the third on a single by Plenny Williams, Richland County gained a 13-7 lead with four runs in the third and two more in the fifth inning.

Williams led the Bulls’ attack with four hits including a double. Ty Leischner added two hits. Williams scored three runs for the Bulls.

Cooper McNally accounted for four hits to lead the Patriots. Gradin Sukut added three hits.

Moose Jaw

The Post 49 Bulls came away with a 16-7 loss against Moose Jaw, 16-7, in their second tournament game in Watford City, N.D., on Thursday, June 6.

The Bulls fell behind 11-0 early, but Post 49 bounced back with three runs in the second and three more in the third to cut the gap to 13-6.

Leading the Bulls were Trent Williams and Henry Kukowski with two hits each. T. Williams scored three runs while Kash Ator crossed the plate twice. Plenny Williams connected for a double.

Pitchers for the Bulls were Ator and Mitch Brown.

Stealing bases for the Bulls were Henry Kukowski, Ator and T. Williams.

Lovell

The Post #49 Bulls came across a strong Lovell, Wyo., team during the American Legion baseball tournament in Watford City, N.D., on Friday, June 7.

The Bulls lost by a 16-3 final margin.

Lovell jumped out to a 10-0 advantage in the contest. The Bulls fought back with three runs in the bottom of the fourth inning.

The Mustangs accounted for six runs in the fifth for the 16-3 final.

Ty Leischner led the Bulls with two hits and two stolen bases.

Cooper King had a hit and a run batted in. Jaydeen Hanshew added a hit for the Bulls.

Pitchers for the Bulls were Hanshew and Alex Moreno.
