Community Pulls Together During Recent Benefits

Two recent fundraising events for area residents with health challenges attracted excellent support from the Wolf Point community.

Latoya Holen, who helped organized fundraisers for both Patrick Wilkinson and Jessica Sietsema, was very impressed with how people stepped forward for the efforts.

“It’s mind-blowing to me when everybody comes together,” Holen said.

The benefit for Wilkinson featured potluck dishes and a silent auction at the Wolf Point Elks Lodge.

“It was a good turnout and I was just amazed by the community,” Holen said.

She noted the dedication by volunteers and the support of her own family during the organizing.

Holen, who was born and raised in the Wolf Point area, was proud of the responses by businesses and individuals.

“It didn’t surprise me. It seems that when we have somebody ill in the community, they really pull together,” Holen said.
