Bulls Drop Tournament Games In Conrad During Weekend
The Bulls lost to Tri-County by a 16-5 final during American Legion baseball action in Conrad on Thursday, June 20.
The Bulls jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the top of the first inning. A single by Cooper King knocked home Preston Swenson and Henry Kukowski in the frame.
The Cardinals scored five runs in the bottom of the first and three more in the second for an 8-2 advantage. Tri-County held an 11-2 lead after four innings of play.
The Bulls accounted for their final three runs in the top of the fifth inning.
Leading the Bulls’ 12-hit attack were Swenson and Kukowski with three hits each. Ty Leischner added two hits. Swenson had a double in the contest, Kokowski scored two of the team’s runs. Having two RBIs each were Swenson and King.
Leischner and Logan Brown pitched for the Bulls.
Despite a strong comeback, the Bulls came up short against the Helena Hellcats 16U by a 14-10 final during the baseball tournament in Conrad on Friday, June 21.
Helena led by a 9-4 margin until the Bulls pulled to a 9-9 deadlock with five runs in the bottom of the fifth inning. A bases-loaded walk to Mitchell Brown scored the first run of the comeback. Jaydeen Hanshew then doubled to bring home Logan Brown and Kash Ator. M. Brown and Hanshew came around to score for a 9-9 game.
The Hellcats, however, bounced back with five runs in the top of the sixth en route to a 14-10 victory.
Preston Swenson led the Bulls’ attack with two hits. Henry Kukowski and Hanshew each belted doubles for the Bulls.
Pitching for the Bulls were Alex Moreno, Ator, M. Brown, Hanshew and Trent Williams.
The Bulls enjoyed a good start with four runs in the bottom of the first inning. Helena trailed by a 4-3 margin until scoring four runs in the fourth and two more in the fifth to grab a 9-4 lead.

Heading into the bottom of the fifth inning with a 6-1 deficit, the Bulls accounted for four runs in the bottom of the fifth inning.
Ty Leischner tripled in the fifth and went on to score on a single by Henry Kukowski. A single by Jaydeen Hanshew brought home Kukowski for a 6-3 game. Cooper King knocked in Hanshew with a single. King then scored on an error to bring the Bulls as close as one run.
Leading the Bulls with two hits each were Leischner, Kukowski, Hanshew and Kash Ator.
Leischner scored two of the Bulls’ five runs.
Ator and Kukowski each connected for doubles.
Kukowski and Logan Brown each pitched for the Bulls.
