Bulls Win Three Of Four

 

The Post #4099 Bulls came away with three victories in their four American Legion baseball games during the weekend.

On Saturday, June 15, the Bulls swept Crosby by scores of 18-14 and 27-13.

In the first contest, the Bulls were down by a 14-11 margin until rallying with a run in the fifth, three runs in the sixth and three runs in the seventh.

Preston Swenson led the Bulls with four hits in the game while Ty Leischner finished with three hits.

Alex Moreno crossed the plate four times. Scoring three runs each were Leischner and Jaydeen Hanshew. Logan Brown, Trent Williams and Swenson each crossed twice.

Hanshew knocked in three runs while Rylan Young had two RBIs.

Swenson connected for a triple while Henry Kukowski and Hanshew had doubles.

Pitchers for the Bulls were Leischner, Hanshew, M. Brown and L. Brown.

The Bulls then outscored Crosby by a 27-13 final.

The Bulls accounted for 12 runs in the top of the first and eight more in the second en route to the victory.

Kukowski and T. Williams led the Bulls with four hits each. Adding three hits each were L. Brown and Moreno.

Scoring four runs each were Moreno and Kukowski. L. Brown, Hanshew and Swenson scored three times.

Knocking in three runs each were Kukowski, Leischner and T. Williams. Swenson belted two doubles.

Pitchers for the Bulls were Kukowski, Young and Kash Ator.

The Bulls split their two contests at Glendive B on Sunday, June 16.

The Bulls dropped the first game by a 21-12 margin. Glendive scored 10 of its runs in the bottom of the third to take a 21-10 advantage.

Young and Leischner had two hits each for the Bulls.

Other leaders included Swenson with three runs and Young with two RBIs.

The Bulls’ pitchers were Moreno, Kukowski and T. Williams.

The Bulls bounced back with a 6-4 victory over Glendive B.

Down by a 4-3 margin, the Bulls struck for three runs in the top of the fifth inning. Swenson tripled to bring in two runs during the fifth.

Swenson finished the contest with three hits including a double and four RBIs. Hanshew added a double.

Moreno scored two of the Bulls’ runs.

Leischner pitched the distance for the victory. He struck out six batters and allowed just five hits.

The Bulls will host the Phillies starting at 3 p.m. on Wednesday, June 26.
