Sheriff’s Report

The Roosevelt County Sheriff’s Office responded to 71 calls from June 17-23. The incidents included the following: June 17

Deputies responded to Culbertson for a report of a possible violation of a no-contact order. Law enforcement talked with the two parties making the allegations. Deputies didn’t feel that there was a violation and advised the parties to contact their attorney.

Deputies received a report that an adult male assaulted his girlfriend in Wolf Point. Deputies made contact with the male and female. Female said she had no injuries and wasn’t afraid. No arrests were made.

June 18

Deputies responded to Bainville for a report of an abandoned vehicle and a suspicious male trespassing on property. Deputies patrolled the area and couldn’t find the male. They said they would provide extra patrol.

June 19

Deputies arrived on the scene of a fatality crash on U.S. Highway 2. Other agencies responding included the Montana Highway Patrol, Wolf Point ambulance, Wolf Point Volunteer Fire Department, Fort Peck Tribes Department of Law and Justice and the Valley County coroner. The crash occurred after a deputy saw an approaching vehicle being driven with no headlights. The deputy turned on his flashing lights and started the process of making an U-turn. The vehicle increased its speed and rolled over. The deputy pulled a 10-year-old male from the vehicle.

June 20

Deputies responded to Bainville for a report of a semi truck parked in the city’s limits. The truck exceeded the city ordinance for maximum weight. The driver was advised of the law and provided directions. June 21

Deputies responded to Town Pump in Wolf Point after employees wanted a passedout male removed from the outside of the building.

June 22

Deputies assisted the Wolf Point ambulance to help an adult male who had fallen.

Two unknown males were reported of breaking into a vehicle at the Amtrak station. One of the males fled the scene. FPTDLJ also responded to the scene. One of the males reportedly broke windows of the car and hid items from the vehicle by a tree.

Deputies received a report that two males broke into a Wolf Point trailer house and took items.

Deputies assisted EMS with getting an elderly woman with back injuries into the ambulance.

Trinity Hospital asked deputies to help with an adult female who was treated and released but refused to leave the premises. FPTDLJ assisted.

In addition, the RCSO had the following activity: Wolf Point city limits, 17; Wolf Point rural, three; Poplar city limits, one; Poplar FPHA, one; Culbertson town, 11; Culbertson rural, six; Bainville town, one; Bainville rural, 14; Bainville BNSF property, one; Froid town, one; Richland County, one; Brockton town, four; Brockton rural, four; Fort Kipp, six; total, 71.
