The 121st Red Bottom Celebration is in the books, following a weekend of rain and thunderstorms that dropped close to an inch of rain across much of the region.

Joetta Allrunner Fourstar told the Northern Plains Independent that she and her family enjoyed the event, despite the rain and wind.

“It was a good celebration,” she said. “More drums than last year.” She said she missed the worst of the stormy conditions Saturday evening. “We went home for dinner so we were in Wolf Point during the storm.”

Walter Runs Above was arena director and Don Racine and Marty Reum emceed. Advisors included Don and Donna LaRocque, Lanette Clark, Colleen Clark, Larry and Edna Wetsit, Ron and Ruth Jackson, Gary and Diane Macdonald and Danna Runs Above.

Head man was Cactus Runs Above and head woman was Adriann Ricker. Princess was Miley Crawford; traveling princess, Brooklyn Bushman; mini-princess, Elvira Clark; junior princess, Malayna Escarcega; princess attendant, Haleigh Fowler; and junior princess attendant, Jade Turcotte.
