The Roosevelt County 4-H Cloverbud Day was held at the Roosevelt County Complex on Tuesday, July 2.

This day is to celebrate cloverbuds or 4-H members that are 5-8 years old. They can bring along helpers too.

Our cloverbuds transformed into “cloverbugs” with the theme of “In the garden.” The members created bug hats, made pressed flower bookmarks, created a bug and garden book learning about flower and insect parts, and made butterfly creations with coffee filters, paint and water.

Participants then created spin-art using a bicycle powered spin-art attachment and paint. They had to pedal their way to a creation.

Finally, the cloverbuds made flower hand print cards to take to the Roosevelt Memorial Nursing Home where they shared their cards and dirt cup snacks with the residents.

We represented the 4 H’s properly with our Head, Heart, Hands and Health. There were representatives from all over the county and visiting members from Georgia. 4-H-To Make the Best-Better.
