Museum Hosts Historical Fundraiser
A promising new tradition was founded on Saturday, July 13, at the Culbertson Museum during the organization’s first “Night at the Museum - Culbertson Era” event. Museum board members and volunteers staffed a living history exhibit, with costumed hosts sharing historical tidbits and information.
Attendees were treated to a tour of the museum with stations including a bank, newspaper office and a blacksmith’s smithy.
Genny Nordmeyer and Gavin Fox were among the best dressed as a pioneer period housewife and a wandering hobo respectively.
A screening of the 2006 film Night at the Museum was held at the old armory July 14 in the afternoon.
Proceeds from the event went to the museum. Organizer Amber Fox told the Community News that a number of attendees suggested the event should be repeated next year.
