Diane Macdonald

Diane Macdonald, 79, of Wolf Point passed away on July 16, 2024.

Diane was born in Wolf Point, Mont., to Rodell and Blanche (Gagne) Mahlum on May 7 1945. She met her husband, Gary Macdonald, at a dance in Poplar while in high school and they married in 1963.

They had three children: Kim Sallee (Dalton) of New Castle, Colo.; John Macdonald (Vicki) of Denver, Colo.; and Mark Macdonald (Lisa) of Bismarck, N.D. Gary and Diane were married for 60 years.

Diane and Gary owned and ran a restaurant that became a well-known staple to the Wolf Point community. She quickly became a second mother figure to many of their high school employees throughout their years owning the restaurant. Diane’s love of auctions led to adding art and antiques to their restaurant. She spent many hours scouring e-bay for antique pieces and loved doing consignment and estate sales.

But her greatest joy in her life was spending time with her family. Diane and Gary traveled many miles all across the country to see their children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren over the years.
