Accreditation Report Lists Area Schools
Many Roosevelt County schools can make goals of improvement after the release of the Montana Accreditation Report by the Office of Public Instruction.
The scoring system’s four ranks are regular, regular with minor deviation, advice and deficiency. Categories are overall score, assurance standards and student performance standards. The assurance standards plus the performance standards equals the overall category.
Assurance standards cover general provisions, school leadership, educational opportunity, academic requirements and program area standards. Performance standards include student learning progressions, growth and proficiency in math, English, language arts along with college and career readiness.
For all schools in Montana during the 2023-2024 school year, 77 percent were designated as regular, 6 percent were regular MD, 15 percent were advice and 2 percent had the deficiency ranking. By comparison, scores for 2022-2023 were 51 percent regular, 1 percent regular MD, 17 percent advice and 31 percent ranked as deficient.
In Wolf Point for 2023-2024, Southside Elementary School received regular scores for overall, assurance and student performance. Northside had an advice score for overall, regular for assurance and advice for student performance. Scores for Wolf Point 7-8 grade were regular for overall, regular for assurance and regular MD for student performance. For Wolf Point High School, marks were advice for overall, regular for assurance and advice for student performance.
Poplar High School had regular scores for overall, assurance and student performance. Poplar elementary receives marks of regular for overall, regular for assurance and regular MD for student performance. Poplar’s 7-8 students had scores of regular for overall, regular for assurance and regular MD for student performance.
Lustre High School received a deficiency score for overall, advice for assurance and deficiency for student performance. Scores for Lustre elementary were regular for overall, regular for assurance and regular MD for student performance.
Scores for Brockton Elementary were advice for overall, regular for assurance and advice for student performance. Marks for Brockton’s 7-8 grade were advice for overall, regular for assurance and advice for student performance. Brockton High School’s scores were advice for overall, regular for assurance and advice for student performance.
Scores for Frontier’s elementary students were regular overall, regular MD for assurance and regular for performance. Marks for Frontier’s 7-8 grades were regular MD for all three categories.
Culbertson High School earned regular scores for overall, assurance and student performance. Scores for Culbertson Elementary were regular overall, regular for assurance and regular MD for student performance. Marks for Culbertson Junior High were regular overall, regular for assurance and regular MD for student performance.
Bainville High School receives regular scores for overall, assurance and student performance. Scores for Bainville elementary were regular for overall, assurance and student performance.
Marks for Froid elementary school were regular MD for overall, regular MD for assurance and regular MD for student performance Scores for Froid’s 7-8 grades were regular MD for all three categories. Froid High School’s results were advice for overall, regular MD for assurance and advice for student performance.
