Walter Faces Three Charges In Court
Bruce Shane Walter is facing three charges in district court. The counts are driving under the influence of alcohol, fourth offense, unlawful possession of an open alcoholic beverage container in a motor vehicle on the highway and speeding on a non-interstate.
According to court document, Montana Highway Patrol followed the black Ford F350 being driven by Walter on June 11. It was observed the pickup began to weave in its lane, quickly going from the center of the lane to the fog line, to the center line and then back to the fog line.
The pickup’s speed was observed going 70 mph in the 65 mph limit zone.
During a traffic stop, a strong odor of an ingested alcoholic beverage was detected. When standardized field sobriety testing was conducted, he struggled. A preliminary breath test read 0.192 for blood alcohol content. After arriving at the Roosevelt County Sheriff’s Office in Culbertson, a breath sample measured at 0.180 BAC.
