Get ready to step back in time as the much-anticipated Living History Day returns to the Upper Missouri.

The Fort Union Trading Post National Historic Site is set to come alive with the sights, sounds, and excitement of the American Frontier during the annual Living History celebration. On Aug. 31, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. CT, visitors of all ages will have the opportunity to experience the rich history and vibrant culture of the fur trade era. Living History Day promises to transport attendees to a bygone era, immersing them in the skills and traditions of living on the early 19th century frontier. This living history event has become a staple for history enthusiasts, families, and adventurers alike, offering a unique educational and entertaining experience for all.

Visitors to Living History Day will enjoy artisan demonstrations of blacksmithing, spinning and weaving, historical medical tools and practices, hide preparation and tanning, tailoring, tinsmithing, glass plate photography, making moccasins, black powder shooting, kid’s activities, and much more!

Fort Union Trading Post is open daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. CT daily. Admission and parking are free.
