Red Hawks Start Strong

The Froid/Lake Red Hawks saw plenty of action during the first weekend of the volleyball season. In a five-set battle, the Red Hawks lost at home against Plentywood by a 16-25, 25-19, 22-25, 25-21, 13-15, final on Friday, Aug. 30.

Mara Salvevold and Isabelle Nordwick led the Red Hawks’ attack and played well defensively.

Froid/Lake then played at a tournament in Sidney on Saturday, Aug. 31. During pool play, the Red Hawks defeated Sidney’s JVs and Wibaux and lost against Ekalaka during pool play.

In the semi-final round, the Red Hawks knocked off Mon-Dak and Terry, 25-21, 23-21.

Ekalaka edged the Red Hawks in the championship match.
