Woman Faces Two Drug-Related Charges
Maria Del Socorra Hernandez- Archdale is facing two drug-related charges in district court.
Hernandez-Archdale has been charged with criminal possession of dangerous drugs, a felony, and criminal possession of drug paraphernalia, a misdemeanor.
According to court documents, law enforcement observed a long strip of folded aluminum foil in plain view in front of the center console of a vehicle parked at the Gold Dust/Black Gold casinos near Bainville. A Roosevelt County deputy informed two women that he thought the item was drug paraphernalia and requested to perform a search. Upon given permission to examine the foil, the deputy told the women that he knew it was drug paraphernalia. Hernandez- Archdale then said it was her property.
After law enforcement confirmed that she understood her rights, she said she used the foil to smoke a 30 mg Oxcodone pill and said she had a “tooter” in her purse. Tooter is slang for a straw or tube used to inhale crushed opiates or smoke from cooking opiates. During a search of the vehicle, two more folded strips of foil were discovered. In a black purse belonging to Hernandez-Archdale were a small Ziploc baggie with a small amount of a crystalline substance that was suspected to be meth. The suspect told the officer that she hadn’t used meth for approximately three years but recently relapsed.
