Nonprofit Leaders Workshop Offered In Wolf Point
Leaders of nonprofit organization and throughout community should take note of an upcoming workshop in Wolf Point.
The Montana Nonprofit Association is conducting the community leader and nonprofit workshop on Tuesday, Sept. 17, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Great Northern Development Center. There is no cost to attend the workshop. Northeast Montana Health Services is sponsoring the lunch. Brandi Wilkinson, who is a nonprofit ambassador, is helping organize the presentation.
Tori Matejovsky, executive director of Great Northern Development Corp., is thankful that area residents will have the opportunity to attend a workshop presented by the Montana Nonprofit Association.
“We are excited for MNA to be in our community and hope that anyone involved with a nonprofit — from churches to food banks to youth and community organizations — will join us on the 17th from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.,” Matejovsky said.
The agenda includes volunteer/ board recruitment and management from 10 a.m. to noon, lunch from noon to 1 p.m. and Advocacy 101, telling your nonprofit’s story, from 1 to 2 p.m.
Goals of the Montana Nonprofit Association include:
• Unite and strengthen the nonprofit sector as a collective force to improve the quality of life in Montana.
• Build the capacity of the nonprofit sector in Montana to understand, monitor, and act on public policy issues that affect nonprofits.
• Promote public policies that are inclusive, equitable, and representative of the values broadly associated with a thriving nonprofit community.
• Educate and strengthen relationships with policy makers, partners in government, and the public to increase respect and support for the nonprofit sector.
• Advocate at all levels of government to promote public policies that enable Montana nonprofits to advance their missions.
