Culbertson Council Talks Bathhouse, Paving
The Culbertson Town Council held their regular meeting Monday, Sept. 9. Council members approved an updated bathhouse schematic. The new design incorporates a family changing area.
The council tabled an agenda item to decide on utilizing BMS Pay instead of Pay.Gov for online bill servicing. The cost per transaction would be $1.95 and there would be three percent fees on credit cards. The annual cost to the town would be $1,200. The item will be on the agenda for the Oct. 14 meeting.
The Roosevelt County Sheriff’s Office reported 39 calls for service in town and one arrest, The council approved a provisional street patching budget limit in the amount of $70,000 for work with Top Gun Asphalt. The company is in town already working on the new C& B Operations building.
The traditional homecoming parade route from the high school, down Broadway Ave. was approved for Sept. 20 from 2-2:30 p.m. The Montana Bar was approved for a permit to close the end of Broadway Ave. from 1 p.m. to 2 a.m. Sept. 28 for a local event.
A motion was passed approving a public levy for local government review, as passed by the public, in the amount of $5,500. A home valued at $100,000 will pay $2.81; a home valued at $300,000 will pay $5.61; $600,000, $11.23.
Financials and claims were approved for August, as well as minutes for the August 8 regular meeting and the August 21 special meeting. The next regular meeting is set for Oct. 14 at 6:30 p.m.
