Wolf Point High School senior Audrey Weinberger looks to continue making a name for herself through the school’s dramatic opportunities.

She has been a four-year member of the high school’s speech and drama program. She earned success in the spontaneous oral interpretation event last year before missing the state meet due to illness.

“I usually placed second or third last year,” Weinberger said of her results. “I got first one time. I was pretty close at every meet.”

In SPOI, a contestant is given a piece by a judge and then has five minutes to prepare a performance. She said she usually doesn’t get too nervous about what the piece might be.

“Unless if it’s a song. I don’t like songs,” Weinberger said.

She added that her favorite piece last year had to do with The Lion King. Her least favorite performance dealt with a toy knight. “I was off with that piece. I was stuttering and couldn’t get with it,” she explained.

Weinberger is aiming to have her best season ever as a senior. “I’m going to try my best,” she said.

She treasures acting in school plays and is looking forward to the school’s production of Dracula.

“I really love acting. I’ve been acting since middle school,” she said.

She especially likes being part of a comedy. “People laugh and it makes me feel good,” Weinberger added.

Her favorite performance has been playing Martha Brewster in the play Arsenic and Old Lace.

One of her goals is encouraging freshmen and sophomores to act in school plays.

Other activities for her are choir and being a part of a Dungeons and Dragons club during weekends.

Her favorite teacher is government teacher Ryan Wilson. Her favorite class is pottery.

After high school, Weinberger plans to attend college and would like to go into the acting field.
