Wolf Point Drops Football Game In Fairfield
After a scoreless first quarter, Wolf Point lost at Fairfield by a 38-14 final on Friday, Sept. 13.
The Eagles were inside the Wolf Point 10 at the start of the second quarter, but a deflected pass was intercepted by Jesse Reed in the end zone to end the threat.
Fairfield, however, then came up with an interception of its own at the Wolf Point seven. A pass was good for a touchdown to put the Eagles up 6-0 with 10:22 left in the half.
Fairfield struck next on a 68-yard pass for a 14-0 advantage with 8:15 remaining in the half.
The Eagles moved ahead 20-0 on an eight-yard pass play with 2:32 left in the half.
Fairfield’s first touchdown of the third quarter came on a 14-yard pass play. A 23-yard completion increased the gap to 32-0 with 5:47 remaining in the third quarter.
The Wolves marched near midfield on their next drive. The possession featured the running of Kasey Reed and quarterback Seth Landsrud. Facing a fourth-and-five, the Wolves were stopped short of the needed first down yardage.
A 42-yard pass completion put the Eagles ahead 38-0 with 6:50 left in the contest.
Wolf Point reached the end zone when J. Reed picked up a fumble and raced 56 yards for a touchdown with 1:46 left.
After a fumble recovery by Aaryn Hamilton, Wolf Point accounted for an offensive touchdown on a 33-yard pass from Landsrud to Jacob White with 41 seconds left. K. Reed ran in the two-point conversion.
The Wolves, 0-3 for the season, will head to Shepherd on Friday, Sept. 20.
