Senior Profile Fugure Enjoys Success In Various Areas
Culbertson High School senior Jazzmin Fugere succeeds in a variety of area at the school including clubs, athletics and the classroom.
She ranks first in the class with a grade point average of 3.92. Fugere also displays her leadership ability by serving as president for the Business Professionals of America and secretary for FFA.
Fugere’s accomplishments have included winning the state BPA title and advancing to nationals in the SQL database fundamentals event. She has been a member of BPA throughout her high school career. Her other events include Linux operating system fundamentals and fundamental word processing.
“I like going with my friends and seeing everybody in the state,” Fugere said of competing in BPA.
As far as FFA, her favorite area is floriculture. “I like being together with a group and learning new things,” she said.
Aside from excelling in the classroom, Fugere also spends one period a day job shadowing with the radiology technician at Roosevelt Medical Center. She is also taking an EMT class at the hospital. Her career plan is becoming a radiology technician.
“I wanted to try it,” Fugere said. “I actually like it a lot.”
Her favorite sports to play include volleyball and softball. She has been playing volleyball since she was in the third grade.
“I’ve learned to love it,” Fugere said of volleyball. She’s hoping the Cowgirls can qualify for the divisional tournament this season.
She adds that she enjoyed playing softball with the Medicine Lake/ Froid team this past summer.
She competes in the shot put, discus and javelin during the track season.
In winter months, Fugere is a member of Culbertson’s cheer squad.
“Cheer is more of being there to support everyone,” Fugere said.
