Wolf Point Native Facing Incest Charge In Montana
Former Wolf Point resident Kyle Einer Traeholt is being charged with rape and impregnating a family member following an investigation in Yellowstone County.
According to court documents, Traeholt sexually abused a teen a little more than a decade ago. He made a not guilty plea last week to one count of incest, a felony. The 59-year-old was booked into Yellowstone County Detention Facility on Tuesday, Sept. 3, days after a six-figure warrant was filed for his arrest. The woman he’s accused of abusing died three years ago.
In 2022, detectives with the Yellowstone County Sheriff’s Office launched an investigation into the allegations against Traeholt. Court documents read that Traeholt sexually abused a teenage girl about 10 years prior while they were living in Yellowstone County. The victim became pregnant, and the baby was stillborn at birth, according to charging documents. That female was shot and killed in a separate incident during 2021. Following the homicide investigation, those who knew her reached out to law enforcement with allegations she had previously shared of Traeholt sexually abusing her.
If convicted of incest, Traeholt could be sentenced to spend the rest of his life in prison.
