MDT To Work On Bridge Projects

The Montana Department of Transportation and its partner, Sletten Construction, have the following planned for Sept. 23 to Oct. 4. All work is dependent on weather and other unforeseen factors.

Mooney Coulee Bridge on US Highway 2, 6 miles northwest of Glasgow. Traffic is traveling on the two-lane detour. Work on the bridge deck continues. On Monday, Sept. 30, crews poured concrete for the bridge deck.

Chapman Coulee Bridge on US 2, 7 miles northwest of Glasgow. Traffic is traveling on the new bridge. Paving of the bridge approaches is anticipated to continue into the week of Sept. 30. Traffic will be reduced to a single lane controlled by a traffic signal.

Buggy Creek Bridge on US 2, 12 miles northwest of Glasgow. Traffic is traveling on the new bridge. The speed limit will remain at 35 mph through the work zone until the approaches of the new bridge are paved later this year.

East Fork Cherry Creek Bridge on Montana Highway 24, 6 miles north of Glasgow. Traffic is traveling on the new bridge. The speed limit will remain reduced to 35 mph through the work zone until the approaches of the new bridge are paved. Paving of the bridge approaches is anticipated to occur later this year.

West Fork Porcupine Creek Bridge on MT 24, 18 miles south of Opheim. Crews continue to work on the bridge deck and road reconstruction at the bridge approaches. Traffic is traveling on the detour. The two-lane detour has a width restriction of 22 feet. Vehicles exceeding this width need to take an alternate route.

Dry Fork Creek Bridge on MT 24, 25 miles southwest of Opheim. Traffic is traveling on the detour. Crews will be forming and pouring the bridge foundations. On Tuesday, Oct. 1, and Wednesday, Oct. 2, crews set the beams for the new bridge. The twolane detour has a width restriction of 22 feet. Vehicles exceeding this width need to take an alternate route.

Drainage Culvert on Montana Highway 251 20 miles northeast of Poplar. Paving is anticipated to continue into the week of Sept. 30. Traffic will be reduced to a single lane controlled by a traffic signal.

Drainage Bridge on MT 248, half a mile west of Four Buttes. Traffic is traveling on the detour. The culvert sections have been set in place, and crews will begin backfilling or filling in the excavated area around them. The two-lane detour has a width restriction of 22 feet. Vehicles exceeding this width will need to take an alternate route.
