Ethelene Violet (DeMarrias) WhiteHawk, 74, died Sept. 26, 2024.

She was born April 17, 1950, in Poplar to Matthew De-Marrias and Jessie (McKay) Feather. She was raised in Brockton and Fort Kipp.

She was Brockton Head-Start bus driver in 1973-74. Later, she moved to Fort Kipp, then worked one year at Culbertson hospital. She also worked at the Fort Peck Commodities for several years. She loved working at the Brockton School. She started as a dishwasher, then moved to head cook for 34 years. She fed many kids. No matter where she went, she always ran into someone she had someone she had fed. She retired because of health reasons in 2021.

She loved to play bingo at Silver Wolf Casino and meet new friends. She really looked forward to Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights.

She is survived by one daughter, Sherryl DeMarrias; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and half-sister, Priscilla Carpenter.

She was preceded in death by her brothers, David and Abe DeMarrias; sisters, Gladys, Janet and Olivia Feather, Vicktoria SpottedBull, Mildred and Merridith DeMarrias; half-brothers, Casper and George DeMarrias and Victor Perry; half-sister, Margritte Boyd; and great-grandchildren, Aiden DeMarrias, Bradynn DeMarrias, Cace DeMarrias and Saige DeMarrias.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, Sept. 8, at Brockton High School. Internment followed at Riverview Cemetery in Brockton.
