Poplar Scores In Ekalaka
Poplar lost in conference football action by a 58-26 final in Ekalaka on Friday, Oct. 11.
The Indians enjoyed a great start when Kaniel Ricker broke loose for a 49-yard touchdown run on Poplar’s first play from scrimmage.
Ekalaka gained a 32-6 advantage at the end of the opening quarter.
Another long run by Ricker put Poplar in scoring position late in the first period. A leaping catch by Ricker off a pass from Chasen Pribbernow produced a first down at the one to open the second quarter. Walker Burshia then scored for the Indians. Pribbernow passed to Blake Lambert for the conversion to cut the margin to 32-14.
The Bulldogs, however, earned a 58-14 half-time lead.
Poplar scored in the third quarter on a 13-yard quarterback keeper run by Pribbernow.
The Indians added a touchdown on the last play of the game when Gavynn Grainger caught a deflected pass in the end zone for the 58-26 final.
Poplar will host Scobey on Saturday, Oct. 19.
