Bulldogs Keep Winning With Victory In Plevna
Bainville’s football squad started rolling in the second quarter and stayed hot with a 45-25 victory in Plevna on Saturday, Oct. 5.
After a scoreless first quarter, the Bulldogs struck first when Rowan Wilson connected with Trevor Robertus on a touchdown pass with 7:17 left in the half. Wilson hit Isaiah Bjorge with the conversion pass for a 7-0 lead.
Bainville’s defense then held Plevna again, and the Bulldogs added to their lead on a throw from Wilson to Keagan Vaira. Wilson passed to Parker Berwick for the conversion and a 14-0 advantage.
After the Cougars got on the scoreboard, Wilson broke loose for a long touchdown run late in the half for a 20-7 margin.
Plevna closed the gap to 20-13 early in the third quarter, but Bainville responded with a touchdown pass from Wilson to Robertus. Wilson hit Berwick for the conversion to put the Bulldogs up 27-13 with 5:10 left in the third quarter.
After catching a short pass from Wilson, Robertus took off for a long touchdown to increase the Bulldogs’ lead to 33-13 early in the fourth quarter.
The Bulldogs took further control after a fumble recovery ty Robertus. Wilson dashed in for another touchdown to put the margin at 39-13.
Wilson then scored on another run for a 45-13 advantage with 6:56 remaining in the contest.
