Froid Town Council Holds Monthly Meeting
The Froid Town Council held its regular meeting Oct. 14. Council member Gale Strandlund ran the brief meeting. During the comment period, two members of the public relayed concerns about young people “ripping around” on motorcycles.
There was no Roosevelt County Sheriff’s Office personnel at the meeting to answer questions or clarify recent reports. Council members recommended reporting all disturbances to the RCSO. The non-emergency dispatch number is 406-653-6230.
A new speed sign for the school zone area was also recommended.
Minutes were approved for the September meeting, as were claims and payroll.
Public works director Alan Engelke reported that he has collected lead and copper samples that are due every three years and said he has been blading the streets and picking up after recent wind events.
The annual inspection of fire extinguishers at town facilities has been completed.
The council reviewed delinquent accounts and approved a new building permit for a garage.
Under other business, council members discussed reports that oil activity north of Bainville is increasing. The council discussed possibilities for housing.
The next regular meeting is set for Veterans Day, Nov. 11.
