Churches Finding Creative Ways To Continue Worship Amidst COVID-19

Churches around the nation are finding creative ways to help their parishioners cope with being cooped up under the social distancing and stay-at-home mandates and provide spiritual guidance.

Here are a few examples of what some local churches are doing. All are encouraged to contact the church of their choice for more information on how to stay connected. Gospel Fellowship Church

Gospel Fellowship Church pastor Mike Andrews held a “drive-in” church service Sunday, April 5. Parishioners gathered in their cars in the parking lot to hear Andrews’ sermon and enjoy a fellowship gathering — all at a safe distance from the safety of their cars.

The sermon was broadcast via FM radio transmitter so everyone had the best seat in the “house.”

The church will have a “Come As You Are Drive-In Easter Service” Sunday, April 12, at 10:45 a.m. Everyone is welcome. Just pull in, park, stay in your car and tune your radio to 90.1 FM.

Immaculate Conception

Holy Thursday, Good Friday and Easter Vigil celebrations at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church will be live-streamed on Facebook at 5 p.m. each day. All who wish to can join in from their homes or watch anytime later.

Immaculate Conception also plans on providing an opportunity for drive-through adoration. Folks are invited to drive through ICC parking lot (west side entrance from Sixth Avenue South) through the south side church door anytime between 5:45 p.m. and 7 p.m. on Good Friday, April 10. The big cross will be displayed at the south side door for veneration. A simple gesture of waving, bowing or a sign of the cross on your forehead is encouraged. Gestures like touching and kissing the cross are not allowed this year due to precautionary measures to stop the spread of coronavirus pandemic. It may not be necessary to come out of your cars, if you do not want to, however stepping out of the car for a few minutes of prayer on the parking lot with family will be allowed. Maintain social distance and exit through Fifth Avenue.

First Lutheran Church

First Lutheran Church in Wolf Point continues its radio broadcasts on KVCK 92.7 FM and 1450 AM with morning devotions at 6:50 a.m. Monday through Friday and a worship service Sunday at 10:30 a.m.

Lustre EMB Church

Lustre’s EMB Church Pastor Frank Lenihan is posting live devotionals on their Facebook page and also hosting Bible study daily via Zoom.

Assembly of God

Wolf Point’s Assembly of God Pastor Tony Sifuentes is live-streaming worship services on their Facebook page Sundays at 11 a.m.

First Baptist Church

Pastor Mike Kauffold at First Baptist Church in Wolf Point is also utilizing Facebook Live to livestream worship services Sunday at 11 a.m.
