Red Hawks Defeat MonDak Girls

 

The Froid/Lake Red Hawks cruised to a straight set league volleyball victory over MonDak on Thursday, Oct. 24.

The Red Hawks won the road match by a 25-20, 25-10, 25-20 final.

Ahead by a 23-20 margin in the first set, the Red Hawks closed out the set on kills by Mara Salvevold and Brooklyn Nordwick.

Behind by a 9-8 score in the second set, Froid/Lake took control with 14 straight points for a 22-9 advantage. Starting the spurt were two aces by Salvevold and a tip by B. Nordwick. Consecutive spikes by Isabelle Nordwick increased the gap to 17-9. Three straight hard serves by Salvevold put the margin at 20-9.

B. Nordwick then scored two kills for a 22-9 advantage.

Two kills by B. Nordwick down the stretch produced the 25-10 final.

The third set was deadlocked at 18-18 until the Red Hawks moved ahead on a kill and block by I. Nordwick. A spike by I. Nordwick put the score at 22-19.

Ahead by a 23-20 advantage, the Red Hawks tallied the last two points including one on a kill by Addison Elvsaas.

B. Nordwick finished the match with nine kills, four blocks and 18 assists. Salvevold scored five aces, seven kills, five blocks and two digs.

I. Nordwick accounted for six kills and four blocks. Elvsaas had 24 assists and one kill. Joelle Davidson added five assists.
