Roosevelt County Sheriff’s Report

The Roosevelt County Sheriff’s Office responded to 81 calls from Nov. 18-25.

The calls included the following: Nov. 18

Deputies responded to a call in Culbertson regarding two dogs running around town. Deputies patrolled the area looking for the loose dogs but the dog weren’t located.

Deputies and the Fort Peck Tribes Department of Law and Justice took a call regarding two stolen vehicles in Poplar. The call pertained to an executor of an estate who came back to the area and discovered vehicles missing. The vehicles weren’t located that day. A report was given to tribal court.

Deputies received a report of a domestic/family disturbance in Bainville.

Nov. 19

Deputies assisted FPTDLJ regarding a complaint of an adult male with a taser who allegedly was trying to use it on an adult female. The male suspect left the area.

Deputies received a burglary report from Culbertson. An adult female said someone broke into her apartment. The incident remains under investigation.

Deputies responded to tribal housing in Poplar and assisted EMS with an adult male, who said he was kicked in the back.

Nov. 20

A two-vehicle crash happened in the round-about in Poplar. A vehicle didn’t yield and struck another vehicle. The Montana Highway Patrol took over the investigation.

Deputies responded to a disturbance in Brockton. A female reportedly wanted a ride. Another female didn’t want the first female in her vehicle or in her house. Law enforcement couldn’t locate the first female.

Deputies, FPTDLJ and MHP responded to Poplar tribal housing for a report of a large fight involving weapons. Someone was allegedly stabbed and laying on the street. One person was taken to the hospital and later interviewed at the hospital. There were a total of 13 people at the scene. The investigation is continuing.

Nov. 21

Deputies responded to a call from a female of harassment in Poplar’s tribal housing. One adult male was arrested and transported to tribal jail.

Nov. 22

Deputies and FPTDLJ responded to a call from the Buckhorn Bar in Poplar that an underage, intoxicated female entered the business carrying an alcoholic beverage. She was cited to tribal court for unlawful consumption of an alcoholic beverage.

Nov. 23

Deputies, FPTDLJ and ambulance services responded to a report of a male who was stabbed in Poplar’s city limits. FPTDLJ arrested the male suspect and took him to tribal jail.

Nov. 24

Deputies and FPTDLJ responded to tribal housing in Wolf Point where an adult female said she was assaulted by her boyfriend. Charges were forwarded to tribal court.

Nov. 25

Deputies received a report from the Culbertson area that a neighbor saw smoke. It was a controlled burn.

In addition, the RCSO had the following activity: Wolf Point city, 11; Wolf Point rural, four; Wolf Point (FPHA), four; Poplar city, 12; Poplar rural, five; Poplar FPHA, two; Poplar FPHA, all other, 14; Culbertson town, seven; Culbertson rural, four; Bainville rural, five; Bainville town, two; Froid rural, one; Brockton town, one; Brockton ural, three; Fort Kipp, six total, 81.
