As we approach the end of this year’s Open Enrollment (Oct. 15 to Dec. 7), I wanted to highlight that Clear Spring and Mutual of Omaha will no longer be offering Medicare Part D plans. If you have a plan from either of these companies, you will NOT be automatically enrolled into a different Part D plan.

It’s very important that you make an appointment with us at Roosevelt County Aging, or you can call Medicare at 1-800-Medicare and they will use the Plan Finder Tool to help you over the phone. You can also go to their website at www.medicare.gov and use the Medicare Plan Finder Tool yourself.

You will not be allowed to join a new plan after Dec. 7 (unless you qualify for a Part D helping program). You will have to wait until next year’s Open Enrollment and then you will have a penalty attached to your premium.

Open Enrollment is also for anyone who missed their Part D enrollment when originally signing up for Medicare (if you did not have creditable working coverage). If you don’t have a plan or creditable working coverage, you are losing your current plan, you would like to see how your plan compares to the other plans available or you would like help going over your plan’s details for 2025, call Roosevelt County Aging Services at 406-653-6221.

Alyssa and I are both trained to help you make a confidential, non-biased comparison and we are happy to go over your plan details with you even if you don’t change your plan. After Dec. 7, you won’t be able to change your plan unless you are enrolled in a Medicare Part D helping program, so give us a call today to schedule an appointment.
