Christmas Stroll Set For Saturday In Wolf Point
Residents will kick off the holiday season with the annual Christmas Stroll on Saturday, Dec. 7.
Lights will come on at 4 p.m. in Sherman Park to officially start the stroll.
Offerings will include hayrides from Build Pro Construction, build and fly toy airplanes presented by Cape Air, naughty and nice hot cocoa by the Sherman Inn, free chili by the Wolf Point Lions Club, Opportunity Bank will provide a s’mores-making station and Independence Bank will offer caramel apple nachos.
Santa will be available to have his photo taken by Hayley Heser.
The NEMHS Charitable Foundation will hold its Festival of Trees from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Elks Lodge, which will also be serving up a variety of hot cocoa choices.
The day of activities will begin at 9 a.m. with the Optimist Club of Wolf Point holding its annual Christmas Bazaar until 3 p.m. at Wolf Point High School. There will be a wide variety of vendors selling crafts throughout the bazaar.
The Optimist Club will have its famous cookie and candy table with wrapped plates and containers for sale. Lunch may be purchased in the school’s multi-purpose room.
Optimists remind the public that the deadline for this year’s Angel Tree is Friday, Dec. 13. Last year, gifts were presented to nearly 80 children through the program.
Individuals can pick up angel tags at local banks and churches, as well as at the Northern Plains Independent’s office. The back of the tags will provide information such as gender, age, gift ideas and sizes. Gifts can be dropped off at the Northern Plains Independent’s office.
The gifts will be delivered on Dec. 20 by the Roosevelt County Sheriff’s Office. Optimists will prepare and wrap the gifts the days immediately prior to delivery.
In addition, the high school will be busy on Dec. 7, with the speech and drama team hosting a meet.
The speech and drama program still needs judges for the event. If interested, contact Jacob Boysun or Jaki Harada.
