Commissioners Approve Door Purchase
The Roosevelt County Commissioners approved four new doors for the county building in Culbertson during their weekly meeting on Tuesday, Nov. 24.
The original anticipated cost was $13,395 for three doors, but Commissioner Gordon Oelkers said a fourth door was also needed for the building.
“I remember when it was built, they said they could add this later,” Oelkers said.
The four units will cost $17,860. The work covers two doors on the north side and two front doors.
The building houses the Extension office, fair manager’s office, nurses’ station, food bank, justice of the peace and the Culbertson Library.
Roosevelt County continues to advertise for a new family and consumer science Extension agent. There is a shortage of possible applicants as similar positions are also needed in Sheridan, Richland and Dawson counties and for the Fort Peck Tribes.
During the meeting, commissioners approved the promotion of Dhareen Villaluz to the rank of sergeant for the Roosevelt County Sheriff’s Office.
Commissioners also approved the hiring of Nisa Genia for the detention center.
