Culbertson Town Council Approves Street Repairs
The Culbertson town council held its regular meeting Dec. 11, following a public hearing for a sign variance Dec. 9.
Approximately $133,000 in American Rescue Plan Act funding was approved for street repairs, the pool parking lot and a paved path at Ike’s Fishing Pond and Walking Trail.
An update was provided regarding the bathhouse project. Council members have rejected the natural light panels in a civil design drawing of the proposed structure. A new design is in process and the council expects to see bids sometime in January. The current bathhouse design drawing is available at the town office.
The council discussed vacancies in the local government review study commission. Plans to fill these spots include Culbertson High School upperclassmen.
Rick Knick provided an update on plans for construction at Big Sky Field. He said current plans may be as much as $1 million and discussed possible sources of outside funding for the project. Bids are expected in the spring.
The Roosevelt County Sheriff’s Office report included 45 calls for service, 19 citations and one arrest.
The Parade of Lights is set for Dec. 19 at approximately 7:30 p.m., immediately following the elementary Christmas concert.
A sign variance was approved for C& B Operations following the Dec. 9 hearing.
Billing clerk Amber Fox told the Community News that residents can view and pay their water bills via the new online and telephone autopay service portal. Residents will need the web ID number listed on their bills to log in. Keep in mind that the web ID is different from residents’ account numbers.
The next regular meeting of the Culbertson Town Council is set for Jan. 13.
