There are many positive benefits of being involved in a school program such as cheer.
“It helps me feel comfortable being in front of a crowd,” Sanchez said. “I put on a cheer persona.”
A highlight was when she got to cheer at the Class B state basketball tournament two years ago.
“That was so much fun,” Sanchez noted. “The best part is basketball season. Everybody gets hyped up for basketball.”
The National Honor Society student is also a member of the school’s tennis program.
“It’s more active and outside,” she said of why she likes playing tennis. “I’m in such a good mood after because of the fresh air.”
In the classroom, her favorite subjects have included current events as a freshman and sophomore and now government as a senior. “Mr. Wilson is very interactive and a good teacher,” she said of government class.
Her favorite teacher is Leslie Larson because she’s easy to talk to for students.
Her plans after high school is attending the University of Montana and study pharmacy.
“I want to do something in the health care fields because of the opportunities,” she said.
