Lustre Beats Christian In Overtime

 

Lustre Christian outscored Manhattan Christian by an 11-4 margin in the extra period for a 62-55 overtime victory on Saturday, Dec. 14.

Manhattan Christian held a 16-12 advantage at the end of the first quarter and a 26-23 half-time lead.

The Lions responded with 17 points in the third quarter 40-35 lead.

The game was deadlocked at 51-51 at the end of regulation.

Reaching double figures for the Lions were Byron Ewing with 15, Prestyn Klatt with 13 and Clay Reddig with 11 points. Johnslee Pierre and Cam Reddig added nine points each. Joel Reddig scored five points.

Christian Triemstra scored 15 points to lead the Eagles.

In the girls’ game, Manhattan Christian took a 51-27 victory. After leading 29-20 at the half, Manhattan Christian increased the gap to 43-22 in the third quarter.

Lauryn Holzrichter scored 12 points to lead the Lions.

Also scoring for Lustre were Kencia Brown with nine, Hannah Brown with four and Samantha Neufeld with two.
