Lady Wolves Split Games In Lewistown
Wolf Point’s girls’ basketball squad split two games during the tip-off tournament held in Lewistown.
The Wolves opened their season with a 53-35 victory over Red Lodge on Friday, Dec. 6.
Wolf Point jumped out to an 11-7 lead in the first quarter as Keeley Blount-Henderson scored seven points.
After leading 23-14 at the half, the Wolves struck for 15 points in the third quarter for a 38-22 advantage. Brenna Blount fired in four three-pointers during the third quarter.
Leading the Wolves were Blount with 12 and Blount-Henderson with 11 points.
Rounding out the scoring were Amya Martinez with five, Kashlyn Speak Thunder with four, Ali Corpron with four, Makenzie Jackson with four and Ameliya Doney with two, The Wolves then fell to Columbus by a 55-32 final on Saturday, Dec. 7.
Wolf Point led 8-6 at the end of the first quarter, but Columbus gained a 22-12 advantage at the half.
Columbus increased its lead to 37-22 in the third quarter.
Ameliya Doney led the Wolves with 14 points.
Also scoring for Wolf Point were Makenzie Jackson with six, Kashlyn Speak Thunder with six, Ali Corpron with two, Keeley Blount-Henderson with two and Karmyn Plain Feather with two.
