Brockton Girls Win Games
Brockton’s girls’ basketball team earned two victories to kick off the season during the weekend.
The Warriors opened with a 67-24 victory over Two Eagle River.
The Warriors jumped out to a 26-7 lead in the first quarter and held a 47-15 half-time advantage.
Tamryn Bauer led the Warriors with 22 points. Also reaching double figures were Ava Lone Bear with 15 and Quintana Young with 12 points.
Rounding out the scoring were Marlene Fish with nine, Erin Mudgett-Black Dog with four, Raykira Track with three and Claire Clampitt with two points.
The Warriors then crushed Northern Cheyenne, 78-13. Brockton took a 32-0 lead in the first quarter.
Reaching double figures for Brockton were Lone Bear with 15, Fish with 14, Bauer with 13 and Mudgett-Black Dog with 12.
Also scoring were Young with eight, Taylor Cummins with six, Clampitt with four, Jade Olney with two, Tatawna Big with two and Track with two.
Brockton’s boys dropped two close games during the weekend.
The Warriors fell to Lodge Grass JVs by a 62-58 final.
Scoring 12 points each for Brockton were Ronnie Blackdog, Jarid Fasthorse and Josh Firemoon. Quannah First added 10 points.
Also scoring were Kameron Rattling Thunder with six, Colter Nygard with four and Miles Boxer Jr. with two.
The Warriors then lost to Northern Cheyenne by a 6462 final. Brockton led 36-26 at the half.
Top scorers for Brockton were Rattling Thunder with 14 and Boxer with 12. Adding nine points each were Fasthorse, First and Firemoon.
Also scoring were Nygard with five and Ronnie Blackdog with four points.
