Culbertson Falls Short Against Wildcats
Culbertson dropped both of its basketball games on the road in Plentywood on Saturday, Dec. 21.
In the boys’ game, Plentywood earned a 79-32 victory.
The Wildcats jumped out to an 18-4 lead in the first quarter and held a 44-10 halftime advantage. Plentywood led 65-23 after three quarters.
Top scorers for the Cowboys were Plenny Williams with 10, Mark Kirkaldie with eight and Gavin Deen with seven. Scoring two points each were Cal Steppler, Ian Snyder and Kaden Featherston. Dawson Bergum had a point. Plentywood’s Carson Solbert tallied 25 points.
Plentywood’s girls won by a 44-18 final.
The Wildcats gained a 27-9 half-time lead and increased the gap to 36-14 at the end of three quarters. Leandra Perkins and Ivy Colvin scored five points each for the Cowgirls. Leading Plentywood were April McCabe with 14 and Mallory Tommerup with 13 points.
