Tribal Executive Board Approves Wolf Point’s Git-N-Go Purchase
The Tribal Executive Board held their full meeting Dec. 23. They approved purchasing Git-N-Go in Wolf Point for $450,000. Money for the purchase is coming from a modified budget from Tribal Reserves.
The Branch of Corrections was approved to hire Donald Boyd-Weinberger and Loretta Adams, moving them from temporary appointment to permanent appointment.
The Tribal operations officer/ secretary accountant was approved to disburse payment to Sonosky & Chambers for legal services rendered for the month of October, along with $16,336.45 for legal services rendered in November.
The board voted to approve Head Start to accept the amendment request for Heartland Mechanical Heating and Cooling to include the TERO cost for the Wolf Point and the Poplar Head Start facilities’ HVAC, with a total increased cost of $49,582.52. They also approved Head Start to accept the amendment request to include the TERO cost for both the Wolf Point and the Poplar facilities HVAC for the total increased cost of $21,045.
De-obligations were approved in the amounts of $10,313 from the Frazer Water Improvement Project (per Ryan Kopp) and $409,090 from Day Labor.
The board also voted to reobligate $419,403 in American Rescue Plan Act funding for homeowner weatherization emergent issues, appliance assistance, admin costs and proposed food bank startup costs.
The initial RFA for the Fort Peck Tribes IRR/TTP program was approved for $984,912.18, as was another five-year term contract with the Bureau of Indian Affairs in the amount of $263,953.
The board approved Carri Sifford to be permanently appointed to the position of Assistant Public Defender for Courts.
The final classification determination for the human resources director was approved and will be advertised.
Carryover funds for the ICWA program were approved in the amount of $172,735.68.
Statement of work revisions authorizing a new five-year term for Red Bird Woman Center for $271,790.
Ernest Bighorn was approved to be transferred inhouse to the position of TOR project director.
A modified contract between Cole Baker and the Fort Peck Tribes 988 project was approved to extend the contract date to June 30, 2025.
Spotted Bull Recovery Resource Center was approved to enter into a contract modification with Allyson Kelley & Associates to provide grant support, i.e. external evaluation services.
An employment contract with Dr. Sandra Wilson as a general dentist was approved.
The Scholarships Program with the Bureau of Indian Affairs was approved for another five-year term. The Johnson O’Malley Program was also renewed.
The Fort Peck Tribal Court was approved to submit a proposal for OVW Justice for the Families Program application.
The Buffalo Ranch was approved to give the Tribal Health Department three buffalo hunts for the purpose of promoting and retaining employees annually. The Interagency Agreement for the Poplar Roller Rink was approved.
Authorize was granted for the Fort Peck Tribes to accept the job/task description to upgrade/replace fire alarm and suppression system in the amount of $484,800.
Under new business, the board approved the construction of basketball courts in the amount of $197,000 by BP Construction.
