Lustre Splits Games Against Mavericks
Lustre Christian’s boys’ basketball team outscored North Country, 18-0, in the first quarter and earned a road victory by a 51-22 final on Friday, Jan. 17.
The Lions held a 29-7 halftime advantage and a 41-18 lead at the end of the third quarter.
Johnslee Pierre accounted for 20 of Lustre’s points.
Also scoring for the Lions were Byron Ewing with nine, Diek Olfert with six, Prestyn Klatt with six, Clay Reddig with four, Cam Reddig with three and Joel Reddig with three.
Laytin Erickson scored seven and Blaine Downing had five for the Mavericks.
North Country’s girls defeated Lustre by a 62-26 final.
The Mavericks led 28-17 at the half and increased the margin to 49-20 in the third quarter. Kencia Brown scored 19 points for the Lions. Also scoring were Lauren Fast with three, Sidney Klatt with two and Lauryn Holzrichter with two.
Leading North Country were BaiLee McColly with 20 and Shelbi LaBrie with 19 points.
The Lions will host Nashua for conference games on Friday, Jan. 24.
