Indians Earn Honors In Miles City

 

Poplar’s wrestlers enjoyed good success during tournament action in Miles City.

Angelina Escarcega pinned Billings Skyview’s Victoria Tenney in 1:28 for the title at 100 pounds. The senior earned two other victories on pins in the tournament.

Alara Cooper earned third place at 115 pounds. Cooper won three matches on pins, one on injury default, one on technical fall and another on major decision.

Blake Follette took fourth at 120 pounds. Four of her five victories came on pins.

Liberty Boadle placed sixth at 105 pounds. Boadle won one match by pin and two other matches on decisions, including one in sudden death, at the meet.

Laitlyn Allen took seventh at 110 pounds. She pinned East Helena’s Alivia Agee in 2:56 for seventh place.

In the boys’ tournament, Navarjo Escarcega earned third place at 138 pounds. The senior won a 7-3 decision in the third-place match. Escarcega pinned two opponents and won another match on a decision.
