The Wolves put together a comeback bid in the fourth quarter but lost to Scobey, 5832, in girls’ basketball play on Saturday, Feb. 1.

Trailing by a 38-19 margin at the end of the third quarter, the Wolves tallied the first 10 points of the fourth period to pull to 38-29 with 5:20 to play. Brenna Blount led the charge with eight of the points including two three-pointers. Ameliya Doney scored a basket off a pass from Keeley Blount-Henderson.

Scobey responded with 20 of the game’s next 21 points to put the game away.

Blount led the Wolves with 14 points. Doney finished with seven points.

Also scoring were Blount-Henderson with four, Caitlyn Wilson with four, MaKenzie Jackson with two and Ali Corpron with one.

Leading the Spartans were Kaytie Aanstad with 15, Kennadi Cromwell with 13 and Kayla Carney with 12.

Scobey led 9-3 at the end of the first quarter and 23-10 at intermission.

The Spartans then struck for eight of the first 10 points of the third quarter.

Wolf Point ended the quarter on a strong note when a three-point play by Doney closed the margin to 38-19.
