Lustre, Bearcubs Split Contests
Lustre Christian’s boys’ basketball team defeated Frazer by a 68-14 final on Friday, Jan. 31.
The Lions exploded for 30 points in the first quarter for a 30-4 advantage.
Lustre added 18 points in the second period for a 48-9 lead and 16 points in the third quarter for a 64-12 advantage.
Diek Olfert led the Lions with 11 points while Cam Reddig added 10 points.
Also scoring were Prestyn Klatt with nine, Clay Reddig with eight, Joel Reddig with seven, Kayden Charette with six, Hadden Olfert with five, Nathan Fast with four, Chris Traeholt with four and Byron Ewing with four.
Leading Frazer with five points each were Gabriel Beston with five and Bryce Fourstar.
Frazer’s girls’ basketball squad outscored Lustre by an 82-70 final on Friday, Jan. 31.
The Bearcubs jumped out to a 22-11 lead in the first quarter and extended the margin to 41-22 at intermission.
Frazer held a 54-38 after three quarters of play.
Leading Frazer’s attack were Audrey Smoker with 28, BriAnna Beston with 19, Baily Beston with 14 and Maci Fourstar-Sibley with 12 points.
Also scoring were Elli Mail with six, Isabelle Fourstar with four, Aubrey Mail with one and Lola Romero with one.
Lauryn Holzrichter finished with 21 points to lead the Lions. Also reaching doubles were Kencia Brown with 13, Samantha Neufeld with 12 and Lauren Fast with 12.
Rounding out the scoring were Sidney Klatt with five, Hannah Brown with five, Abby Olfert with two and Ashtyn Traeholt with two.
