Lustre Boys Post Victory In Bainville

The Bainville Bulldogs and Lustre Lions split basketball games during non-conference action in Bainville on Saturday, Feb. 1.

In the girls’ game, Bainville came away with a 63-39 victory.

After leading 11-9 at the end of the first quarter, the Bulldogs struck for 22 points in the second period for a 3317 lead.

Bainville outscored the Lions by a 14-10 margin in the third quarter.

Hailey Berwick and Elsie Wilson each finished with 14 points for the Bulldogs. Tally Berwick scored 13 points and Lila Butikofer had 10 points.

Addison Hansen had six points. Adding two points each were Miah Pippenger, Jodi Albus and Chandi Johnson.

Leading Lustre were Lauryn Holzrichter with 13 and Kencia Brown with 11 points.

Also scoring were Sidney Klatt with seven, Samantha Neufeld with five and Lauren Fast with three points.

Lustre’s boys won by a 7513 final.

The Lions gained a 19-5 lead in the first quarter and held a 43-10 half-time advantage.

Reaching double figures for the Lions were Cam Reddig with 19, Byron Ewing with 12, Diek Olfert with 11 and Prestyn Klatt with 11.

Rounding out the scoring for Lustre were Clay Reddig with six, Joel Reddig with six, Hadden Olfert with five, Chris Traeholt with three and Nathan Fast with two.

Rowan Wilson scored 12 of Bainville’s points. Seth Pacovsky had one point.
