Indians Lose To Scotties


After leading for much of the first three quarters, Poplar’s boys’ basketball team fell short against conference foe Glasgow, 52-46, on Friday, Feb. 7.
Poplar’s Dane Moran hit a three-pointer to put the Indians up 34-33 with 2:08 left in the third quarter, but Glasgow’s Wyatt Babb accounted for the last five points of the period for a 3834 upper-hand.
A baseline shot by Walker Burshia kept the Indians close at 41-39 with 6:18 remaining. The Scotties then ran off the next eight points including three-point shots by Babb and Nicolas Solorzano for a 49-39 cushion with 3:16 remaining.
The scoring of Wilder Bearcub got the Indians as close as 50-44, but Poplar couldn’t come any closer until Kaniel Ricker made an outstanding shot off a rebound to cut the margin to 51-46 with only nine seconds left.
Moran led the Indians with 14 points. Ricker, Blake Lambert and Bearcub addeed eight points each. Also scoring were Burshia with six and Keilen Erickson with two.
Babb, a 6-4 senior, finished with 25 points. Cade Hudyma scored 10 and Grady Nielsen added nine points.
