Froid/Lake Girls Outscore Savage

Froid/Lake’s girls’ basketball team capped its regular season with a 50-43 home victory over Savage on Saturday, Feb. 15.

Ahead by a 15-13 margin at the end of the first quarter, the Red Hawks held Savage to a point in the second period for a 29-14 advantage.

The Red Hawks held a 3720 lead after three quarters of play.

Mara Salvevold pumped in 24 points to lead the Red Hawks. Isabelle Nordwick and Brooklyn Nordwick added seven points each.

Also scoring were Keira Stentoft with four, Avery Johnson with three, Addison Elvsaas with three and Lilly Johnson with two.

Savage’s top scorers were Taylor Conradsen with 11, Cambry Conradsen with eight and KD Lyons with eight points.

Savage defeated the Red Hawks, 47-21, in the boys’ game. The Warriors gained an 18-4 lead in the first quarter and held a 38-8 half-time advantage.

Carson Kelm scored seven points for the Red Hawks. Roberto Orozco and Eduardo Orozco had four points each.

Also scoring were Aaron Orozco with three, Rylan Young with two and Jacob Nordlund with one.

Zane Pilgeram scored 15 points for the Warriors.
