Wolves Fall In Fairview

Wolf Point’s basketball squads lost both conference contests in Fairview on Friday, Feb. 14.

Wolf Point’s boys’ team fell by a 45-36 final.

Fairview led 10-7 at the end of the first quarter and 22-14 at the half. Zandon Calder scored seven of Wolf Point’s points in the first half.

The Warriors held a 36-25 advantage at the end of the third quarter.

Calder finished the game with 16 points to lead the Wolves.

Also scoring were Richard Campbell with six, Sean Hamilton with five, Andrew Williamson with three, Jett Azure with two, Reed Garfield with two and Dashaun Jackson with two.

In the girls’ game, Wolf Point lost by a 53-27 final.

Fairview jumped out to an 18-0 lead in the first quarter as Carly Buxbaum hit four three-pointers in the opening period. The Warriors held a 29-7 half-time lead. Wolf Point’s Brenna Blount and Mattie Azure hit three-pointers in the period.

Wolf Point’s top scorers were Blount with nine andn Keeley Blount-Henderson with seven. Also scoring were Azure with five, Kashlyn Speak Thunder with three, Mackenzie Jackson with two and Amaya Martinez with one.
